Failing HVAC Drives Montclair Library’s Budget Ask for ‘Immediate and Overdue’ Repairs

malfunctioning climate control system, leaky roofs and drafty windows that date to the 1950s have prompted the Montclair Public Library’s $5 million capital budget request for infrastructure updates, according to the library director.

The challenges with heating and cooling the library’s main branch have severely impacted the public institution’s ability to fulfill its mission, Library Director Radwa Ali told Montclair Local.

“The library is supposed to serve as the town’s only seven-day-a-week heating and cooling center, providing a safe and comfortable environment for everyone in the community,” Ali said. “Right now, we’re falling short of that promise.”  Read more . . .
