Montclair Public Library Book Drive and Book Sale

The Montclair Public Library is asking residents to clear out their bookshelves for a community book drive Oct. 11 and 12, ahead of its fall book sale later in the month.

The library and Montclair Public Library Foundation will accept gently used books and other media at the Main Library, 50 South Fullerton Ave., from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12.

Donations can include hardcover and paperback books for adults and children, in English and other languages, as well as DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and audiobook CDs. Items should be in good condition and suitable for resale. The library will not accept items including encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, VHS tapes, puzzles and board games, or most outdated travel guides.

The donated items will be sold during the library’s fall book sale Oct. 22–24, with proceeds supporting library programs, summer reading and mobile hot spots.

The sale will run from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. A bag sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, when shoppers can fill a bag with books for $10.  Read more . . .
